This book was originally published prior to 1923, and represents a reproduction of an important historical work, maintaining the same format as the original work. While some publishers have opted to apply OCR (optical character recognition) technology to the process, we believe this leads to sub-optimal results (frequent typographical errors, strange characters and confusing formatting) and does not adequately preserve the historical character of the original artifact. We believe this work is culturally important in its original archival form. While we strive to adequately clean and digitally enhance the original work, there are occasionally instances where imperfections such as blurred or missing pages, poor pictures or errant marks may have been introduced due to either the quality of the original work or the scanning process itself. Despite these occasional imperfections, we have brought it back into print as part of our ongoing global book preservation commitment, providing customers with access to the best possible historical reprints. We appreciate your understanding of these occasional imperfections, and sincerely hope you enjoy seeing the book in a format as close as possible to that intended by the original publisher.
The Battle of April 19 1775 In Lexington Concord Lincoln Arlington Cambridge Somerville and Charlestown Massachusetts Frank Warren Coburn Books
This book was published in 1912 but is one of the best books I have found covering April 19, 1775. The author covers the British and the Americans as they move through the day. One of the best sections in the book is the section listing all the militia and minute men by company and leader. If you are a genealogist or just looking for your own family history, this book is a good resource. If you like history, it is a quick read but the information is invaluable. I recommend this book for history buffs and genealogy fans.Product details

The Battle of April 19 1775 In Lexington Concord Lincoln Arlington Cambridge Somerville and Charlestown Massachusetts Frank Warren Coburn Books Reviews
This is a comprehensive detailing of the events of the day before and after the historical snippet of 'The shot heard 'round the world'. The writing is a little helter skelter as source material is referenced mid-paragraph in many areas. If you are interested in the history beyond the celebrated event, and can overlook the source-related disruptions in the flow of reading, you will find this very enlightening . Interesting to conceive how a few strategic moves could have changed history as we know it.
Good book. Tells the story accurately. The Muster rolls is great for anyone researching their family history. I do recommmend. it
I enjoyed the detail of the battle. How the British soldiers plundered the houses. The fierce fighting of the minutemen.
My mother's family name was Coburn. And grandpa told me of Asa Coburn at Boston and his trip to settle Ohio with a congressional bequest of land.
Enjoyed it very much.
Frank Warren Coburn does a great job putting together the historical detail of the April 19, 1775 battle. He leads up to the battle with background regarding Paul Revere's warning ride and then follows the retreat of the British from Concord throughout the remainder of the day.
